Overview

The Faculty of Asia School of Business invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in organizational behavior (with all of its component, such as leadership, management, HR, I-O psych, strategy or entrepreneurship) at all levels.

Asia School of Business (ASB) – a partnership between the Central Bank of Malaysia and MIT Sloan School of Management was founded in 2015, in Kuala Lumpur, and has been recognized as having the most innovative MBA program in the world today (e.g., by Poets & Quants). At ASB, we offer a multicultural and intellectually stimulating environment for scholars across different disciplines thanks to our commitment to people, ideas, and talent. We promote high-impact and actionable academic research and embrace scholarship from multiple disciplinary perspectives.

ASB offers an internationally competitive compensation package, relocation assistance, reasonable teaching load, generous research funding, and strong teaching support staff. In addition, all ASB faculty members have the opportunity to spend up to one semester as an International Faculty Fellows (IFF) at MIT Sloan; they are provided with access to most of MIT staff privileges and an opportunity to sit in on classes, participate in seminars, and engage in academic life on campus. An MIT senior faculty mentor is assigned to support the new faculty member’s research and teaching development.

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about impactful and actionable research, committed to excellence, and who can demonstrate the ability or potential to teach effectively in MBA, Professional MBA, and Executive Education programs. The successful candidate should also be willing to contribute in a proactive and collegial manner to the institutional development as well as its national and international visibility.

Although not required, we consider favorably the candidates with a focus on Southeast Asia and/or experience in emerging markets. We also consider highly candidates with an interest in advising students’ experiential learning through group and individual “Action Learning” projects in partner companies, which is a distinguishing feature of our MBA program.

The School is in a new, fit-for-purpose campus, located in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur, on the grounds of Bank Negara Malaysia’s modern and well-equipped knowledge and learning center. The latest Mercer Quality of Living Index placed modern, cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur as Southeast Asia’s second most livable city.

Candidates are expected to have solid training in empirical studies of Organizational Behavior. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. from an internationally recognized institution, and have a track record (or strong potential) in top international journals to commensurate with rank.
