The Ohio State University College of Public Health is searching for a tenured faculty member at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to hold the Stephen F. Loebs Professorship in Health Services Management and Policy in the Division of Health Services Management and Policy. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Senior and mid-career scholars with highly distinguished records of academic achievement and research will be considered for the Professorship. The successful candidate will be nationally recognized in healthcare management or related fields (e.g., health policy, health economics, healthcare systems, quality of care). Scholarly work that contributes to understanding and advancing health equity or addressing structural barriers to health or healthcare access will be especially valued. An outstanding record of high-quality research and external research funding is required. The candidate should have demonstrated experience and accomplishments in graduate education and mentoring of doctoral students.

Health equity is a major focus of the Division and College. The Division’s systemic efforts to support faculty and students in this area is most recently exemplified in the endowment of the Health Equity Fund for Health Services Management and Policy, which focuses on addressing health equity and leadership development for those who wish to advance populations underrepresented in health care leadership roles.

We are seeking a faculty member who will contribute immediately to the growth of our MHA and/or doctoral degree program in health services research, and health management and policy research. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to the Division’s overall research portfolio and the growth of our programs. Candidates will be expected to develop/continue their own program of funded research that aligns with the university’s strategic initiatives and to collaborate with existing faculty. Inclusive and effective teaching and student advising are also expected. Candidates will provide service and administration to the Division, College, University, and community. Qualifications:

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Rank and salary will be determined by the candidate’s credentials. Salary will be nationally competitive, commensurate with the rank of an endowed full or associate professor at a major research university.

About the Division and College:

The Division of Health Services Management and Policy’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is 7th nationally in the latest ranking of graduate programs published by U.S. News & World Report. Our multidisciplinary faculty is known for their excellence in teaching and their significant research accomplishments. Faculty collaborate with researchers from various colleges, centers and institutes, including the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Dentistry, James Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Institute for Population Research.

The College of Public Health is Ohio’s first accredited college of public health. First established in 1995 as part of the College of Medicine, the University Board of Trustees created the College of Public Health in 2007.
