Position Summary
The Collins College of Business at the University of Tulsa seeks an experienced and qualified candidate for the David and Leslie Lawson Chair of Entrepreneurial Studies. The Lawson Chair holder will contribute to the missions of the College and University by conducting and publishing research in entrepreneurship, innovation, and change in leading journals; developing appropriate curricula and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship; collaborating with faculty across the TU campus on innovative interdisciplinary research and teaching projects; and building and strengthening relationships with the Tulsa and regional entrepreneurship ecosystem. The expected start date is August 2024. Salary and rank will be competitive with AACSB-accredited institutions and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will hold the rank of associate professor or full professor. The Lawson Chair will be a nine-month faculty appointment.
Entrepreneurship and innovation have been identified as areas of strategic importance for Collins College and the University of Tulsa. Collins College offers an undergraduate innovation, change, and entrepreneurship minor open to all majors on campus and a management major with a specialization in innovation, change, and entrepreneurship. Graduate courses are offered for students within the college and across the TU campus. In 2022, the College launched the Creativity Club and @joltscholars, a program which is open to all University students interested in innovation. In 2023, the College launched The Center for Entrepreneurship and the Hurricane Venture Fund, an early-stage seed capital fund to invest in faculty, student and alumni lead projects. The College is a member of 36 Degrees North, (www.36n.co) Tulsa’s basecamp for entrepreneurs. The successful applicant will play a key role in the evolution of entrepreneurship and innovation education in the College and University.

Duties:
The successful applicant will teach entrepreneurship-related courses in the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs, maintain active and productive research in entrepreneurship, innovation, and change, and engage in appropriate professional and service activities. The ability to teach a course or courses in management is desirable. Other activities include engaging with students and faculty to solve problems encountered by entrepreneurs in startups and other organizations, along with contributing to the general activities and operations of the College and University.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for the Lawson Chair include a doctoral degree in a business-related discipline; strong scholarly credentials, including a sustained strong record of innovation, change, and entrepreneurship-related publications in high-quality journals; a record of quality entrepreneurship teaching and visionary program development; a demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively on research and teaching endeavors; and evidence of an ability to develop meaningful relationships in entrepreneurship, innovation, and change ecosystems.
The preferred candidate will have a portfolio of high-quality, innovative research, including externally funded research; notable achievements and/or recognition of scholarly awards by peers in the discipline; a demonstrated record of high-quality academic and professional teaching; a demonstrated record of collaborative ventures in the university environment and with external stakeholders; and a record of mentorship of faculty.

The Collins College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, which maintains the highest standards for business schools in the world, and has been named one of the top undergraduate business schools by Bloomberg Businessweek and Princeton Review. Home to approximately 500 undergraduate business students and 200 graduate business students, the College has four academic units and approximately 35 full-time business faculty positions. Degree offerings include Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accounting (MAcc), online Master of Energy Business (MEB), and the BS in Business Administration (BSBA).
