JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Management at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the area of Human Resources or Organizational Behavior (HR/OB) starting Fall 2024. Successful candidates will join a growing, dynamic department and be committed to teaching, scholarship, and student success.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Expectations for the position include teaching classes related to HR/OB and other management courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and significant participation in program development and professional work, and service to the University and community. Candidates must also have a strong interest and skills that enable them to participate in building curriculum, developing innovative academic and experiential programs, taking on leadership roles within the department, and developing and maintaining relationships with the local business community. It is also expected that the person filling this on department, college, and university-wide committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
By the appointment date, candidates for the assistant professor position should possess an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in the area of HR/OB or a closely related field such as Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Candidates should candidates should have established scholarly accomplishments in alignment with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standing, appropriate to rank.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Priority will be given to those candidates who (a) have an earned doctorate (by the time of the appointment) from an AACSB accredited institution in the area of HR/OB or a closely related field such as Industrial-Organizational Psychology; (b) have significant prior professional or business experience in the field; (c) ability to teach HR/OB and other management courses; (d) have demonstrated teaching excellence and evidence of strong publication record.
Ideal candidates for the associate position should demonstrate a strong teaching and publication record as well as prior professional experience in the area of HR/OB.
Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
