The Department of Management & Business Analytics in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Management in our new Talent Management/Human Resources Management major beginning Fall 2024. We are looking for applicants with expertise or experience in Talent Management/Human Resources Management. This is an on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Tenure track faculty have a 3-3 teaching load (courses typically limited to 25 students), are expected to advise students, have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and engage in other forms of service to the Department and College. Faculty are expected to be actively engaged scholars, producing research that complements and informs the in-class experience.
Teaching. We seek candidates who are dedicated educators with the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in HRM/TM and management (based on their educational background, areas of research, or industry experience), including in one or more of the following areas:
Introduction to Human Resources Management / Talent Management
Talent Acquisition and Development (i.e., selection, training, performance management, succession planning)
Total Rewards (i.e., compensation, benefits, EAP, wellness, hybrid work)
Employee Relations Management
DEIB / Managing Diversity in Organizations
Human Resources Information Systems
People Analytics
Any other HRM/TM courses
We also value the ability to teach other courses:
Management courses such as Organizational Behavior and other related classes (e.g., leadership, service operations, etc.)
Introduction to Business (first-year course taught by a rotating interdisciplinary group of faculty)
Applicants should specifically address in their cover letter or teaching statement which of the above courses they have the ability to teach.
Mentoring and Service. Successful candidates should show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals. Commitment to serving the Department, School, and College is also essential. Industry or professional experience outside of academia is highly valued, but not required.
Research. Applicants should show evidence of current research productivity and ongoing future scholarly publication (e.g., relevant peer-reviewed publications, presentations at conferences, manuscripts under review, research in progress, etc.) Active scholarship is an essential part of our ongoing accreditation.
Education & Experience
A successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in Human Resources Management, Management, or a related field, or will finish their degree by September 1, 2024.
