The Hamline School of Business in Saint Paul, Minnesota, seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position and/or a teaching Instructor position in management. At the undergraduate level, the school offers a Bachelor in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting, business analytics, finance, management, and marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
At the graduate level, the school offers the following graduate degrees: Master of Business Administration, Master of Management and Leadership, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Management and Leadership, Master of Public Administration, and Ph.D. in Management and Public Service as well as sequential degrees, dual degrees, and a joint MBA/JD degree with the Mitchell Hamline Law School.
The School of Business designs its undergraduate and graduate program offerings to meet the needs of students who require the skills and knowledge to succeed in the rapidly changing realities of our local and global communities. The school is dedicated to preparing students to work across sectors to solve the complex issues facing today’s society. Faculty members play a pivotal role in developing new courses and management education certificates as well as ensuring a high level of learning through assessment activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and curriculum development responsibilities for the tenure-track position includes six courses per year (24 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels), and the teaching faculty position includes eight courses per year (32 credits across the graduate and undergraduate levels). Course content areas include strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, first-year seminar and/or course content matching the expertise of the applicant.
We are seeking candidates who have prior teaching experience (at least one semester) in some of these course content areas.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCES
Candidates must have demonstrable competencies in teaching.
Candidates must be committed to the development of skills necessary for advising and mentoring students from culturally diverse backgrounds, and to the promotion and enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in support of academic excellence. These practices include, but are not limited to instructional activities, curriculum content, and contextual framework.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with diverse student populations.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position
Candidates with a completed Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or Business Administration. ABD candidates will be considered with anticipated completion within the first year of appointment.
Teaching Instructor Position
Candidates with a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management or other related Master’s degree coupled with substantial experience or a high level of professional achievement in business.
