The School of Business at Southern New Hampshire University invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment for the Business program, beginning August, 2024. You will be at the assistant professor level, with primary responsibilities in teaching undergraduate courses (primarily in management), mentoring students and developing curriculum for our programs. You will report to the Dean of Business. We seek faculty who can contribute vision, energy, and leadership, and are eager to help further curriculum development at a School where one person can truly make a difference.
A successful applicant will articulate their research interests in the field, demonstrate a commitment to experiential undergraduate education and program development that helps align curriculum with industry demands. You will demonstrate a commitment to cross-disciplinary collaboration and collegiality and excellence in teaching. Faculty enjoy manageable class sizes of 20-30 students on our beautiful Manchester NH campus.
This position is a ten-month annual position and includes the possibility of summer and graduate teaching assignments for additional compensation. This is a fully onsite position with a baseline teaching load of 3 courses per semester + 6 flexible credit hours per year pending administrative approval before start date.
What you'll do:
You will develop, prepare, and teach courses following approved course descriptions and class schedules, typically four courses per semester
You will participate in the departmental efforts for curriculum development, program reviews and accreditation under the supervision of the department chair
You will collaborate with the faculty/staff in departmental and School-level projects
You will develop and attend professional improvement activities to maintain contact with one's academic discipline, including teaching/learning processes and development of knowledge in one's field of specialization
You will participate in student career development and related advising or mentoring activities and special retention programs
Other duties as assigned to support the School of Business, and University College
What we're looking for:
An earned doctoral degree in business administration or related field and demonstrated excellence in teaching for an accredited institution of higher education. ABD's will be considered with the expectation of degree conferral no later than December, 2024.
Business / Industry experience preferred
3+ years of experience teaching any of the following should be noted on the CV or in the cover letter - international business, strategic management, general management, business analytics. Practical work experience in any of these areas will be prioritized.
Demonstrate commitment to high-quality teaching with the ability to engage students in multiple modalities
