The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Innovation in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from interested candidates for an Assistant Professor position with a specialization in strategic management, entrepreneurship, innovation, and/or organizational research methods. The expected start date for the position is August 2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The job duties for the position include research, teaching, and service. Conducting and publishing research in the top academic journals in the field is the primary job duty. Teaching expectations include teaching in person classes at the undergraduate, masters, or doctoral level and holding in person office hours. Finally, the position requires service to the profession, university, college, and department commensurate with rank.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 15, 2025) in management or a related discipline from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university.
Candidates must have a strategy, entrepreneurship, or innovation focus.
Candidates must have demonstrated the potential to publish in top-tier journals.
Candidates must meet standards to be classified as a Scholarly Academic for AACSB purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who possess strong research records and who have demonstrated leadership roles in research projects that result in top-tier journal publications.
Preference will be given to individuals who possess a strong pipeline of research.
Preference will be given to individuals with a strategic management scholarly background or the ability to teach strategic management.
Preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated the ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom and value collegiality.
Preference will be given to individuals who desire to contribute to the doctoral program by mentoring doctoral students, chairing dissertation committees, and developing and teaching doctoral courses.
Preference will be given to individuals who possess cutting edge methodological training and who have a desire to teach advanced methods courses at the doctoral level.
Preference will be given to individuals who desire to become a member of an active in-person campus environment, including engaging in on campus activities.
The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Innovation (SEVI) is comprised of faculty focusing their research in the broad areas of strategic management, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The Sam M. Walton College of Business, founded at the University of Arkansas in 1926 and accredited by AACSB International since 1931, has been ranked as a top 30 public business school for 15 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report.
